She goes to seminars with the most knowledgeable speakers in the business, constantly looking for what is upcoming and fresh, to bring it to the three Bennett’s Furniture & Mattresses stores. FOCUS

International Market Centers had 3 major trends highlighted in fall 2019, showing us what we’ll be seeing everywhere in the near future.

The first trend was FOCUS, which looks at colour and materials that weave a theme of the pursuit of calmness, clarity, and contentment. Giving the vibes of serenity, wellness, and mindfulness, this powerful trend gives a strong nod to nature.

Gemstones and geodes, wood, animal hide rugs, sleek lines and soft metallic hues like champagne gold are in the spotlight.

DRENCHING

The next trend is entitled DRENCHING, a self-titled crash course on sophistication and easy elegance.

This palette is especially suited to modestly-scaled interiors. Colour confidence is on the rise. Look out neutrals!

Mirroring what is seen on the fashion runways, colour-blocking and intense bold hues are paired with stark white and gold. A modern and mid-century modern feel prevails.

ANIMALIER

The final trend the International Market Centers explored was ANIMALIER.

Animals have been the muse of painters, illustrators, textile designers and sculptors for centuries. An “animalier” is known for realistic portrayals.

We are now seeing jungle prints, bold florals, and rich, exotic colours. Think deep teal, rich red, and black. A mixture of metals goes with the theme, but bronze and copper look super luxe with the elegant hues.
