We can help you with finding statement pieces for large rooms but also for small spaces. Here are some tricks to help make the area look a little larger.
1. Clocks
Spruce up your home office, family room or kitchen with an easy solution that
says “I’ve got the time in hand” with an oversized clock! The one shown is 32” in
diameter, with a black frame and a white face. Clocks add a not-so-expected
touch of sophistication. A round shape looks lovely just about anywhere but
rectangular, square or ovals lovely are as well.
2. Mirrors
Entranceways quite often have a
bench or cubby which is practical but
another practical idea of course is a
mirror, but this time go BIG. A small
space can feel larger and a dark space
can appear lighter as light and other
images reflect to help make an area
appear larger. Narrow restaurants use
this trick all the time, so take notice
the next time you go to a restaurant
like this. Depending on your style,
colour of frame and shape preference, you can get one that suits your
home perfectly. These are super practical in a bedroom against the wall or
the back of the closet and you don’t need to have a large closet to make
this work.
Before you leave the house you’ll be prepared with a quick head-to-toe check.
3. Large Headboards
A headboard can do the trick
if your bedroom is not that large
and could use a focal point.
There are many styles to choose
from so you can have fun looking through
Bennett’s showroom, and catalogues. Elegant fabric, a sleigh style
headboard or maybe a nostalgic looking metal frame may suit
your bedrooms decor.
Many people opt for
serene tones in the
bedroom to exude calm and quiet. Having said that though, a room that
has neutrals can often use a statement piece for a little impact. Here’s
one with the look... this handsome bed with a classy headboard does
the trick.
4. Full size Lamps
Lamps are a great way to add more light and personality to your space. Choose one in a fun accent colour or with a neat
texture to add more depth and character to your room. See some of the lamps we love from our Peterborough
showroom below.
5. Elegant ‘head chair’ for dining table
Whether your room is open concept or not, a regal looking head chair in your favorite colour would look gorgeous. Try a
teal or rose tone maybe in a velvet. Who ever sits at the table ends will feel like a King or Queen.
6. Sectional
In a room with the right scale, this large ‘curl your legs under’ super comfy sectional will fit the bill for a family gathering.
Pairing the right accessories with your sectional can truly make it sparkle.
Customize yours with a choice of many fabrics. Various configurations are also available and of course, you should select
toss cushions to suit your colour scheme and d?cor style. Anyone maybe into polka dots?
7. ‘Roundish’ Shape or Special Function Coffee Tables
Here are 2 attractive styles that say “look at me!” and “rest the snacks on me!””
The elegant glass top table has an intriguing set of 3 arched legs that seem to defy
nature! The glass top allows for an open feeling in a living or family room with a
grouping of furniture around a rug because you can see through the glass. It’s
particularly right for a room with a pretty patterned rug where you desire the
appearance of more space.
OR
This rectangular table has a lot going for it with a lift top that easily allows you
to pull the table top up towards you using a hinged mechanism. There is
also storage under the lift top, so you can now conveniently utilize the
surface space as a desk for your laptop and work supplies or as a table to
eat from.
