Behr has chosen Rumors (MQ1-15) for this year’s colour of the year. This dynamic and rich red evokes a feeling of luxury, while also promoting sense of ambience.
Rumors is a timeless colour that can make a dynamic and confident statement. Enhance the luxurious feeling by pairing it with metallics. You can also pair it with other colours, including mint green and yellow.
Benjamin Moore decided to choose a sophisticated and earthy tone, with Cinnamon Slate (2113-40). Like Behr's Rumors, this colour is meant to evoke confidence, but in this case, it is doing so in a more delicate and calm way.

Purple Basil symbolizes self-reliance, self-discovery and self-expression. It puts a focus on you. Supporting the trend of bold and dramatic colours in homes, you can drench a room in this colour, or pair it with other bold colours, including greens, oranges and blush pinks.
Valspar picked Encore (8002-45G), a blue that is bold and rich, as this year's colour of the year. This was chosen as a nod to Old World Design, while also looking into the future with a nod to digital. It is both familiar, yet unexpected.
Encore works both as a feature colour and as an accent. It is both joyful and approachable, so while it will work in a maximalist space, it doesn't need to feel overwhelming. Drench your space in blues by pairing this with lighter blues, or pair it with whites and sage greens for a more down to earth feel.
Pantone went with a warm and comforting colour this year, choosing Mocha Mousse (17-1230). This colour has qualities of chocolate and coffee, which further leans in to the comforting feel.
This mellow brown hue can stand on its own, or it can be a foundation for a wide range of other colours. It works for moth minimalist and maximalist design styles. Some of the other colours this earthy, yet sophisticated colours pairs well with are cream, rose, green and mid-tone blues.
HGTV Home Sherwin Williams' colour of the year is Quietude (HGSW6212). This colour is a lighter, classic tone that evokes a sense of calm and relaxation.
This timeless colour is meant to remind us to slow down, and to look for happiness in all the small moments. As a mossy green with soft blue undertones, this colour can be either a pop of colour, or a neutral. Pair it with colours such as teal, brown and gold.
